Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Spurs, has stated that finding a new defender is a “priority” and that his team will be looking in the new year.

However, Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that a deal for Todibo will not be simple to complete.

Nice would hate to lose one of their greatest players in the middle of the season because they are competing for the Ligue 1 championship.

The British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is set to take over as Man United’s football manager in the coming weeks, is a strong supporter of the Cote d’Azur team.

As reported by Football Insider on December 9, Man United is presently ahead of Tottenham in the competition to sign Nice defender Todibo in January.

Spurs may be priced out of a January move for the France international, it is said.

Thus far in the 2023–24 season, Todibo has made 14 appearances in Ligue 1, with one assist.

He signed a contract extension with Nice just last year (2022), thus his current term there is through June 2027.

With 117 appearances overall, the former Barcelona player has helped Nice finish second in Ligue 1 this season as they battle it out with Paris Saint-Germain for the championship.

Following Davinson Sanchez’s sale and Micky van de Ven’s injury, Tottenham is eager to sign more center backs in January.

After significant injuries derailed their early-season potential, Postecoglou’s team is currently fifth in the Premier League.

As a replacement is lined up, Tottenham is prepared to accept an offer of a midfield player for £20 million.
