Arouna Sangante, a central defender from Le Havre, is apparently a target for Nottingham Forest as they get ready for the forthcoming January transfer window.
Should Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna depart Nottingham Forest, Nuno Espirito Santo evaluates his team and may choose to bring in a defensive player. Forest and Fulham are apparently considering Le Havre’s Arouna Sangante. However, according to Alan Nixon of The Sun, Le Havre is reportedly looking to pay a high price for the center back before the January transfer window opens.
Originating in Dakar, Senegal, Arouna Sangante started his career in France as a young player, playing for Red Star and Cosmos Saint-Denis. He was signed by Le Havre as a teenager, and they raised him via their well-known youth program.
Sangante, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall, has been an important member of Le Havre’s team in Ligue 1, where they are currently 11th after being promoted. Although he hasn’t yet received his first Senegal call-up, his strong performances could soon see him in the national squad alongside players like Moussa Niakhate of Nottingham Forest and Cheikhou Kouyate.
Arouna Sangante’s performances this season have impressed Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United, according to Foot Mercato in November. Now that they’ve entered the competition, Nottingham Forest may try to sign the defender during the January transfer window.
Given Sangante’s connections to some of the best teams in the Premier League, it would be a significant statement if Forest could match Le Havre’s asking price for the player.
