Newcastle United will entertain Nottingham Forest at St. James’ Park this Tuesday afternoon as they hope to earn all three points at home in the Premier League.
The Magpies suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Luton Town recently, so they would be eager to put in a much-improved performance versus the East Midlands outfit on Boxing Day.
Eddie Howe will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first XI for this game. Both Tino Livramento and Alexander Isak will get a chance to impress from the start of this clash.
Martin Dubravka will operate in between the sticks for the Magpies after conceding one goal in his last league appearance. Fabian Schar will function alongside Dan Burn at the centre of Newcastle’s backline as they focus on keeping a good defensive shape inside their half during the game.
Ezoic
Kieran Trippier will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Tino Livramento hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack whenever they can.
Sven Botman will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield
Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Lewis Miley will make up Howe’s midfield three as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them need to be at their best if the Magpies are to secure a convincing win this Tuesday.
Matt Ritchie will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Anthony Gordon will look to impress as the left-winger while Miguel Almiron hopes to make a difference from the right flank. Alexander Isak is expected to lead the charge for the Tyneside club on the offensive end of the field.
Callum Wilson has to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if Newcastle are in need of a goal by then.
