According to reports, Said Benrahma, a standout for West Ham United, will join Lyon after leaving the team next month. Lyon, a major French team, and Benrahma are reportedly in negotiations. This information comes from the French publication L’Equipe.

Since David Moyes frequently chooses Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Pacqueta, and Muhammad Kudus to start in the attack, Benrahma’s role has decreased.

While Kudus, who paid £38 million to sign from Ajax last summer, has only scored six goals in the Premier League this season, Bowen has scored eleven. Benrahma has not made a start for West Ham since the team’s 3-2 loss to Brentford at the beginning of November. He has been an unutilized substitute on five occasions and made two bench appearances.

Now that he is 28 years old, the attacker wants to go on and embark on a new journey in France. Lyon, who are presently ranked 15th in Ligue 1, are prepared to spend big money over the course of the next month to avoid relegation.

Although Benrahma paid £25 million plus £5 million in add-ons to join West Ham, it is unclear how much Lyon is willing to spend for the Algerian international.

According to L’Equipe, Lyon is prepared to invest €50 million during the winter transfer window in order to climb back up the Ligue 1 rankings.

L’Equipe has reported that the sleeping French powerhouse is interested in the Premier League winger. TalkSPORT has confirmed this. Stuart Pearce, an assistant manager and former West Ham player, has stated that Benrahma should move on and seek out new experiences. Pearce stated, “It hasn’t surprised me in the least. I believe I read somewhere that Saudi Arabia [Arabia] could also be considering him.

“I don’t believe they need to hold onto him because he hasn’t played here frequently and reliably enough.

“It could be time for him to reinvest the money and move on.”
