Clément Lenglet of Aston Villa is reportedly a target for AC Milan in the winter transfer window, according to a number of reports from the Italian media over the past week or so.
The defender was on loan from Barcelona to the Villans. Sport said two days ago that the La Liga team is in favor of allowing him to join the Rossoneri. It was also reported that Unai Emery wants to keep him until the end of the current campaign, therefore Aston Villa is preventing his departure.
Gazzetta dello Sport has the most recent information on Milan’s efforts to sign the Aston Villa player.
The Serie A team desperately needs to strengthen its defense, and they will have to bring in two center backs next month due to Fikayo Tomori’s addition to the injury list. The Frenchman is at the top of their list, as evidenced by his name being in the “highest position in the Rossoneri’s notebook.”
Lenglet has made seven appearances this season, including two in the league over the previous two games. The 28-year-old is “resisting” to leave Aston Villa in January because they want to keep him until the end of the current campaign.
According to Gazzetta, Milan appears to be able to “surmount” this challenge in the next window.
It might be challenging for Milan to acquire Lenglet’s services if he plays for Emery’s team in the remaining games.
