Fabrizio Romano reports that Tottenham will take on Sevilla for a young player from Ajax who has recently attracted a lot of interest.
After making a name for himself with the Ajax reserve squad, 18-year-old attacking midfielder Stanis Idumbo Muzambo is now being predicted to be a player to watch in 2024.
Although he hasn’t played for Ajax as a senior yet, the Belgium Under-19 international has developed a solid reputation while playing for the reserve team.
Muzambo can play on the left or right side of the field, but his primary position is attacking midfielder. Muzambo made 33 games for the Ajax Under-18s, tallying 13 goals and dishing out 17 assists.
His skill set has been brought to Tottenham’s attention, and the Premier League team has recently been following him. Romano has revealed that the young player has chosen to reject any new contract offers from the Dutch club. The player’s contract with Ajax ends at the end of the current campaign.
Tottenham is now in a strong position to recruit him because it appears the young player is focused on starting again somewhere in 2024.
Spurs appear to be the only team after Muzambo, but they may be the ones to provide the 18-year-old with a proposition to entice him to north London.
Tottenham face competition for his signature
Romano used social media to share the most recent information regarding Muzambo’s future, as the attacking midfielder from the Netherlands is being pursued by both Tottenham and Sevilla.
“Sevilla and Tottenham are planning to make offers to sign Ajax’s Belgian midfield player Stanis Idumbo Muzambo, who was born in 2005,” Romano said.
“Idumbo Muzambo has decided to turn down any new contract bid from Ajax. Agreement to be sold in January or leaving as free agent in June.”
Tottenham would be a great environment for Muzambo to hone his craft, although Sevilla would perhaps be able to provide him with a quicker path to their senior squad.
