The Rangers’ game against Ross County has been postponed, which is frustrating for the supporters who want to leave the house after a crazy Christmas as well as for the many staff members who had to work but didn’t have to.
It will have been inconvenient for ground staff, catering staff, and residents of Edmiston House who would have preferred to be at home rather than getting ready for a busy night since the game at Ibrox was postponed due to circumstances beyond our control.
Not just the team or employees will be irritated by the misplaced planning; in this day and age, every euro is a prisoner, and the Rangers have just squandered a substantial sum of money just to have Ross County’s lack of foresight leave us without compensation.
Rangers ought to view their salary from Ross County.
Examining the SPFL guidelines, however, the Highland group might have saved money by reserving a hotel for the previous evening and leaving early instead of taking a chance on inclement weather.
Unfavorable weather that was, coincidentally, predicted.
Prepare to fail, fail to prepare, and all that.
What occurs in this case is explained under the heading “Non-fulfilment of Fixture Obligations” paragraph G55:
“A Club failing to fulfill a fixture obligation in terms of Rules G5 and/or G53 shall be liable to pay compensation for any expenses necessarily incurred by the opposing Club as a direct result of the failure, without prejudice to any other sanctions, which may be imposed for a breach of Rules.”
“The Board, which will evaluate each case on its merits, will determine the amount of such compensation.”
To put it briefly, Ross County will most likely need to cough up. It’s unclear how much will change, but Edmiston House and many other match day workers in Ibrox on Boxing Day and today were there because they didn’t have to be. Although it is encouraging to see a homeless charity profit from what would have gone to waste, any perishable food and drink that was supplied will also need to be replaced because the Rangers’ next home game isn’t until next midweek.
The A9 has been terrible, but Ross County was aware of the fixture’s date and the likelihood of unfavorable weather.
They took a chance, and it didn’t work out. Maybe they should just reserve a hotel the next time, as they will shortly receive a bill.
After tonight’s game against Ross County was postponed, the Rangers acted swiftly to salvage as much as possible from an unfortunate circumstance.
With snow preventing supporters from traveling safely throughout the nation due to Storm Gerrit, Sky Sports must be rubbing their palms because the Edinburgh derby is suddenly the focus of irate spectators and armchair fans both.
Food that the Rangers purchased for hospitality and catering outlets for the game against Ross County will now be used elsewhere because Ibrox will be empty and there won’t be a home game until next week.
Rangers act swiftly following the postponement of Ross County
The Simon Community is a nonprofit organization that serves the homeless in the cities of Edinburgh, Perth, and North Lanarkshire. It is run by a group of volunteers.
James Bisgrove of The Herald explains that the Rangers board and catering partner Levy have decided to assist the less fortunate during a season that can be particularly difficult for some people.
“While everyone at Rangers was naturally hoping that tonight’s game would go ahead, we were also eager to donate some of the leftover food from our fully booked hospitality suites and kiosks in order to benefit Glasgow’s homeless community.
“As Rangers, we take great pride in our local origins, and we thought this was the least we could do, especially this time of year. Levy, one of our partners, is greatly appreciated for their outstanding assistance in making this possible.
