We are excited to have Paul Robinson, a former England goalkeeper, join us as an exclusive columnist. Paul will provide his weekly insights on the most talked-about topics at Leeds United.
Paul Robinson has maintained that Leeds United and Galatasaray have “absolutely no chance” of working together to sign Kerem Akturkoglu in January. It follows on December 19th, when Aksam stated that the Whites were prepared to spend £12.9 million to sign the winger and bring him to Elland Road the following month.
Because of the past between the two teams, Robinson acknowledged that Akturkoglu would simply not be accepted by the supporters, saying it would be unjust to both them and the player.
He exclusively told MOT Leeds News, “I don’t think the player would be accepted, so I think there is absolutely no chance the two clubs would do business.”
“Harry Kewell left Leeds and unintentionally went to Galatasaray between two clubs because of the history between the clubs, and Leeds fans made their feelings about that very clear.”
“It’s hard enough to join a new club without having the entire fan base against you from the beginning, so I just don’t see how it would be accepted by the fans and I don’t think you would do that to a player.”
Although Daniel Farke has previously acknowledged that he is undoubtedly searching for a new left-back, he may consider other alternatives until the transfer window opens on Monday, January 1.
