Fabio Silva has successfully switched to Rangers on loan.

The 21-year-old forward for Wolves has agreed to spend the remainder of the season temporarily at Ibrox. On Monday, January 1, he will formally become a member of the team, making him eligible to play against Kilmarnock on the following day.

Rangers have revealed that they have signed Wolves forward Fabio Silva on a season-long loan.

When Rangers play Kilmarnock at Ibrox the following day, the 21-year-old Portuguese forward will be eligible for selection. He will arrive at Ibrox on January 1. Since joining in October, Philippe Clement, the manager, has brought in Silva as his first addition. The Belgian coach had previously expressed his intention to bolster his forward lineup due to the injuries suffered by Danilo and Kemar Roofe. Silva, who reportedly paid £35 million to join Wolves from Porto in 2021, has only made ten appearances this season due to his lack of playing time at Molineux. He was on loan at PSV and Anderlecht last season.

“I am very happy,” Silva said of his move to Rangers. “Everyone I spoke to about Glasgow and Rangers told me good things about the club and the history.” Everything is excellent because I’ve played here before in the Europa League with Porto. I know the cozy club, the setting, and the stadium. I’m thrilled to be here and am eager to get started with the team’s training.

Clement was happy to have more alternatives for attack. He stated on the team’s website, “I am thrilled we were able to sign Fabio; he is a highly-rated striker and it is fantastic to have him joining our squad for the remainder of the season.” “He is a young player with a wealth of great experience from his time playing in Europe and England, and I am excited to work with him going forward.”

“After speaking at length with Philippe, the Chairman, and our football board ahead of this transfer window, we are all aligned in the areas we are looking to strengthen heading into 2024,” Chief Executive James Bisgrove continued. Being able to is quite beneficial.

For the remainder of the season, Silva will wear the number 7 shirt for the Rangers.
