Rangers manager Philippe Clement has been boosted by a key update regarding the future of an “electric” player currently at Ibrox.

Rangers transfer news

The Gers have to pick themselves up quickly, following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat away to rivals Celtic, and new signings in the January transfer window could be needed. Clement’s side are now eight points adrift of top spot, and while they do have two games in hand, an extra sprinkling of quality in the squad will aid their chances of going all the way in the Scottish Premiership title race.

In addition to the proven Premier League experience that both Everton defensive pair Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate would bring to the team, Rangers have recently been linked to a number of players; they have also signed Wolves’ Fabio Silva on loan, which could be a thrilling move; one loan player who is currently playing well at Ibrox is someone the Gers will be hoping to bring back to the team permanently at some point, and a significant update has been released regarding what could happen next for him in his career.

Rangers offer a lift to Abdallah Sima
After previous reports suggested Rangers were in a good position to secure a permanent deal that could cost up to £15 million, a new allegation from Football Insider indicates Brighton may approve a permanent move for Abdallah Sima to Rangers at the end of the current campaign.

“Sources have told Football Insider that Brighton would be willing to sell forward Abdallah Sima to Rangers on a permanent basis this summer. The 22-year-old is said to not be a part of the Premier League team’s long-term plans because they have an abundance of elite offensive alternatives available to them.

“The Seagulls value Sima at between £10-15million but this figure could increase if he continues his excellent form – especially in the Europa League.”

This is excellent news for Rangers, who, considering Sima’s effect since joining from Brighton during the summer transfer window, will undoubtedly want to make the loan deal permanent if the opportunity presents itself.

The 22-year-old has made just 14 Scottish Premiership starts this season, but he has already registered two assists and nine goals. James Tavernier, the captain of the Gers, has lavished praise on him, saying:

“This season, (Abdallah Sima) has been a true offensive menace for us. He can finish in challenging areas and has an incredible pace. We generally need to provide our forwards with stronger team support. We must avoid them and provide them with the same possibilities to score as Allah.”

At just 22 years of age, there could still be so much to come from Sima, and he may spearhead Rangers’ attack for a number of years in the future, should he join at the end of the season. Granted, Brighton may hold out for a hefty fee for his services, but he could be worth every penny over time.
