The Texas Longhorns have evened the score vs. the Washington Huskies in the second quarter

The Texas Longhorns were on the ropes early vs. the Washington Huskies in the Sugar Bowl, trailing 14-7 after an early second-quarter touchdown from Dillon Johnson.

Fortunately for the Horns, after being forced to punt, they caught a big break, with Washington muffing a punt inside their own territory to give Texas new life.

The Horns were able to parlay that turnover into a touchdown, evening the score up on the next drive, with Quinn Ewers handing the ball of to defensive tackle Byron Murphy from one yard out for the score.

This is not the first time the Horns have utilized their defensive tackles on offense either, with T’Vondre Sweat catching a touchdown pass in the Big 12 Championship game, and Murphy himself catching one as well in their third game of the season against Wyoming.

On the next drive, the Huskies were able to get back down the field on a big pass play, but the Horns were able to stuff them for a turnover on downs on fourth and short, getting the ball back with new life and a chance to take the lead.
