Chris Millington, the manager of FC Halifax Town, declared that he “wouldn’t turn down” the chance to sign Billy Waters, an attacker for Wrexham, this winter.
The forward was bought by Wrexham from Barrow last year, but he hasn’t played much at the Racecourse Ground this year. This season, 29-year-old Waters has made seven appearances in all competitions, with three of those coming in the league.

According to a Halifax Courier report, Millington has stated that while he would be excited to welcome the youngster to the Shay, he anticipates him staying in the Football League: “There would definitely be a talk to have if Billy wanted to move here, but I believe he has his sights set on remaining in the EFL. Naturally, though, we wouldn’t pass up the chance to re-sign Billy if given the chance.

An attacker from Wrexham is wanted
Waters has an agreement with Wrexham that runs through the summer of 2025. But since he isn’t receiving a promotion, leaving this month would be advantageous for his career.

He was signed by the Welsh team in March to assist them cross the finish line and get promoted in the previous season. In 38 games for Barrow, he scored nine goals before leaving through the Holker Street exit.

While he was at Halifax, Waters was very popular. Before earning a transfer to the fourth division, he scored 19 goals in 47 games for the Yorkshire team overall while playing under their old manager Pete Wild.

The man was born in London and has also had stints with Newport County, Torquay United, Cambridge United, Cheltenham Town, Northampton Town, and Crewe Alexandra.

Wrexham must decide how to handle him throughout this window. Halifax is willing to re-sign him, but teams further up the football hierarchy will probably compete with them for his services.
