Lamare Bogarde’s loan from Bristol Rovers will shortly come to an end at Aston Villa, according to our colleagues at BristolLive.

In January of last year, the 19-year-old signed a contract for the League One outfit, and the summer saw the club extend his stay. Nevertheless, he has had trouble making a name for himself under new boss Matt Taylor.

After making an impression on BS7 the first time, fans were ecstatic to see Bogarde return. Before being fired as manager in October, he was a regular under former manager Joey Barton.

Having said that, Villa intends to recall the player and assign him to a different team before the January transfer window closes. The midfield player signed his first new long-term contract with Villa in 2020 after leaving Feyenoord. He spent two seasons in the junior system. The following year, he was loaned to Rovers.
