Charlie Taylor, a defender for Burnley, is the left-back that Graeme Bailey keeps hearing Leeds United could sign in the January transfer window.

In 2011, the full-back made three appearances for the Whites at Elland Road, where he started his professional career. Before moving to Burnley in 2017 on a free transfer, he would play 100 more games for Leeds.

The HITC writer is aware of the conflicting emotions Leeds supporters feel toward one of Vincent Kompany’s main players, but a full-back spot is available after Djed Spence’s loan agreement was terminated after just six months.

He stated on Thursday, January 4, on the One Leeds Fan channel, “A left back is someone they want.”

“I hear Charlie Taylor mentioned frequently when people talk about returning.” I am aware that Leeds supporters don’t really like for him because, well, he left very early. I anticipate a left-back entering the game.

Taylor has played in the Premier League and Championship for more than 300 games for Burnley and Leeds combined. He is a very skilled defender.

Daniel Farke is unlikely to reject a sensible mind, especially in a dressing room full of youthful players, especially if promotion is in the works for the latter. In light of Luke Ayling’s reported departure from Elland Road, Leeds may need to add an experienced player if they hope to succeed this year.

However, it makes sense that some fans were dubious about the signing given that Spence, a gifted prospect, was recently permitted to return to his parent club after just six months of a season-long loan.

Joe Rodon’s loan from Tottenham Hotspur and the permanent signings of Joel Piroe, Glen Kamara, and Georginio Rutter show that the Whites can draw in much bigger names.
