The Standard claims that Arsenal must offload players in order to make room for new arrivals this month. They may also terminate Tavares’ stay at City Ground early because other teams are reportedly interested in him.

Although the left-back has already been connected to Galatasaray of Turkey, it appears that he has other suitors in Europe. According to the Daily Express, if an offer is made “from which they can make a tidy return,” the Gunners might think about canceling his loan.

Due to foreign interest, defender Nuno Tavares’ Nottingham Forest loan may be terminated.

In July 2021, Tavares left Benfica to accept an almost £10 million contract with Arsenal. On the day of the summer transfer deadline, he went on loan to the Reds and due to spend the season Trentside, with his deal including future options.

However, he has found game time hard to come by this term. Injury has not helped his cause, but he has featured just three times in the Garibaldi with only one of those appearances coming as part of the starting XI.

He has not been on the pitch since being forced off in the 2-0 defeat at Manchester City in September. Nuno Espirito Santo’s first three games as head coach have seen the 23-year-old as an unused substitute.

Harry Toffolo and Ola Aina have been in good form this term, making it tough for Tavares to get a look-in. However, the latter will miss up to four Premier League games in the coming weeks as he is part of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations squad.

Overseeing outgoings is a priority for Forest in the January window, with Nuno keen to work with a smaller squad. Gustavo Scarpa has already returned to Brazil and Andrey Santos’ loan has been terminated by Chelsea amid a lack of minutes.
