Mark Wilson notes that nobody is discussing the mistakes made by the Gers manager and players at Celtic Park.

Rangers’ real reason for inflaming the VAR disputes with the SFA is deflection.

Mark Wilson concurs that Alistair Johnston handled in the box against Celtic, according to this. However, the Clyde Super Scoreboard commentator concedes that Abdallah Sima’s offside indicates there was no penalty and that the play had no bearing on the result. The actual problem, he believes, is that Rangers lost a crucial Old Firm match despite going into it in strong form and with their opponents seemingly in trouble.

Wilson points out that the narrative is now all about Willie Collum and the VAR process as the Ibrox club and governing body play statement ping pong.. And none of the focus is on how Philippe Clement’s side performed at Parkhead and missed the chance to really crack up the title pressure on Brendan Rodgers’ side, who are now eight points clear, albeit having played two matches more.

“What Rangers are doing are deflecting,” said the former Hoops full back. “And I’ll tell you what everybody is doing now; they’re talking about the decision. They’re not talking about Rangers being beaten after being on the ascendancy, and Celtic apparently stuttering and brendan Rodgers being under pressure. Nobody is talking about that.

“Nobody is talking about the manager’s team selection. Nobody is talking about Dessers, nobody is talking about the manager’ substitutions. It’s about the statement put out about Willie Collum, and the rest has all been forgotten about.

“it was the same after the game at Ibrox. Everybody spoke about that decision rtaher than the actual defeat. It’s deflection.”
