The Mirror claims that West Ham United is interested in acquiring Jack Clarke, an attacker for Sunderland.

The Englishman, 23, had great performances this season, and the Hammers are interested in signing him, according to a UK newspaper outlet that published an article on January 6.

Tony Mowbray, the former Mackems manager, called the 22-year-old “wonderful” after he scored 12 Championship goals and registered two assists during his stellar season with the North East club (Leeds Live, September 22).

Premier League teams are reportedly starting to notice his impressive performances, but he’s probably going to stay at Sunderland until the summer transfer window.

Next, Bowen

Before his disastrous transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, clubs and supporters were already accustomed to Clarke’s incredible gifts, so he’s definitely not one of those geniuses suddenly emerging on the scene.

Since he joined Sunderland though, he’s taken his game to whole new levels already scoring 12 goals this season after registering a whopping nine goals and 12 assists during the 2022/23 campaign.

West Ham United are desperately short of attackers right now, with the likes of Said Benrahma, Maxwel Cornet and Pablo Fornals all linked with January exits and Clarke, given his age profile, potential, homegrown status and quality would be an ideal bet for David Moyes to pursue.

Signing homegrown Championship talents has always been the way to go at the London Stadium, just look at Jarrod Bowen since his move from Hull City back then.

Clarke is certainly the next player to emerge from the English second division and tear up the Premier League when given the opportunity. There may be no better club for Clarke to continue his rapid rise than the mighty West Ham United.

With a January move unlikely, the Hammers should definitely have him at the top of their wishlist for the summer window.
