Here are the latest Leeds United transfer news and rumours for Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Defender closes in on Frankfurt deal
Experienced centre-back Robin Koch has agreed to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a full-time basis this summer. The 27-year-old will sign a pre-contract with the German club to make his loan move from Leeds United permanent at the end of season when his Elland Road deal runs out, according to reports in Germany.
Koch joined the Whites following their Premier League promotion in 2020. The eight-time Germany international clocked up 77 first team appearances for the club, including 66 starts in the top flight over three seasons.
United paid around £12million ($15.3m) to sign Koch, who has started 23 matches for Frankfurt this campaign. Reports in Germany say Koch will sign a contract with Frankfurt until 2027.
Djed Spence is set for another loan move, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The right-back headed back to Tottenham last week after Leeds United terminated his loan deal.
Spence, a promotion winner with Nottingham Forest in 2022, left Elland Road, having made just seven appearances for the Whites in an injury-disrupted spell. Romano says Spurs plan to loan the 23-year-old out again for the remainder of the season and that he is expected to secure a move away from North London within a matter of days.
The former England Under-21 international is contracted to Tottenham until 2027. He spent the second half of last season in France with Rennes after failing to establish himself at the Premier League club.
