West Ham United has been informed by Wolves of the precise amount required to capture Max Kilman during the January transfer window.
Max Kilman is believed to be someone West Ham is seeking to buy from Wolves during the January transfer window. According to recent reports, we were stepping up our chase of him after deciding to move on Thilo Kehrer.
However, they may well need to be some more movement first regarding outgoings, if Kilman is to swap the Black Country for East London this winter.
Hammers boss David Moyes will need to raise some cash by moving on some players first though, before even attempting to sign the 26-year-old Wolves centre-back.
According to Ben Jacobs, West Ham will have to sell Nayef Aguerd first before making a move for Kilman.
The football journalist also opened up on exactly how much signing the Wolves central defender will set us back…
West Ham must pay big for Max Kilman
Jacobs reckons that it will take a £45 million offer from the Hammers to prise the 26-year-old away from Molineux.
That’s a serious amount of money, but if we manage to get anywhere north of £35 million for Aguerd, I think it would be good business.
Kilman is a much better defender than the Moroccan, and he’d be a sensational addition to Moyes’s ranks.
In 20 appearances for Wolves this season, the 26-year-old has averaged 1.3 tackles, one interception, 4.6 clearances and 2.7 successful aerial duels.
He has made 58.4 passes per game and has recorded a completion rate of 83% (Who Scored). Compare those stats with Aguerd’s and the Wolves man comes out on top in every single category (Who Scored).
If West Ham end up having to pay £10 million more for Max Kilman than what we sell Aguerd for, then I think it will be a very good move from us.
The London-born centre-back is a top-class player, and I think he’d be a really strong addition for us.
