Former Nottingham Forest defender Djed Spence is reportedly closing in on a loan move to Genoa with an option to buy.
The full-back’s recent loan spell at Leeds United has ended early after he joined the Championship side last summer. Spence excelled in Garibaldi Red during the 2021/22 campaign when he was on loan from Middlesbrough.
He moved to Tottenham but struggled for game time in North London. And now the 23-year-old looks set for a move to Italian Serie A side Genoa.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that Spence is set to complete a loan move to Italy which will include an option to buy clause. He claims the fee, should they choose to buy him, is in the region of €10million.
“Djed Spence will join Genoa on loan deal from Spurs… but it will include buy option clause!” He said on X formerly known as Twitter.
“Understand it’s not mandatory and it will be in the region of €10m — up to Genoa in June. Tottenham will pay Spence’s full salary as part of Dragusin deal.”
