In the January transfer window, West Ham United is considering making an attempt to buy a gifted young winger.

It’s obvious that David Moyes wants to bring in some offensive reinforcements before the January transfer window closes.

Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, and Michail Antonio are not with the Hammers right now.

Regretfully for us, that may remain the case for some time, as it seems that Moyes is genuinely interested in signing Sunderland’s Jack Clarke, as the Black Cats are requesting £20 million for the 23-year-old.

It appears that West Ham is now stepping up our efforts to sign the former attacker for Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur.

This is presumably due to the fact that we have now approached Sunderland first in an attempt to force him out of the Stadium of Light.

In January, West Ham moves to sign a winger.
The Mirror (print edition, January 11, page 53) reports that the Hammers are in the process of signing the Sunderland winger.

But Moyes has a major issue: Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Sheffield United are also vying for Clarke’s signature.

He may develop into an elite player, but for now, Clarke is a very good player. Simply put, I’m not sure if he has what it takes to sign with West Ham and start playing right away this month.

In the FA Cup match on Saturday against Newcastle, he pretended to be dishonest for Sunderland. Perhaps this indicated that he isn’t quite ready to play with the big boys just yet.

Or maybe the winger was just having a bad day. With just 26 Championship games played, the 23-year-old has already scored 12 goals and provided two assists for Sunderland this season.

Thus, it is evident that he can score and create goals. When the ball is at his feet, the Black Cats ace is incredibly direct and has great technical ability.

I won’t lose any sleep if we don’t get the winger, but I will accept it if West Ham signs him in January.
