Callum O’Hare acknowledges that Coventry City has extended its contract offer to him, but he is unclear how the talks are going at the moment.

The 25-year-old is rumored to have received new terms offers, but as things stand, he may be free to go somewhere when his current deal expires in the summer and depart the CBS Arena. O’Hare’s departure from Coventry will probably be felt by the team, since the Sky Blues have been playing better since his long-awaited return from injury.

In Coventry’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Saturday, he scored twice. However, the midfielder acknowledges that he “doesn’t have a clue what’s going on” in terms of contract negotiations with the team right now.

“They actually offered me one but at the minute, honestly, I don’t have a clue what’s going on,” he stated to Sky Sports.

Everyone at the club is aware of my deep passion for this place, so it goes without saying that I have a unique bond with the supporters. All I can say is that I’m going to give it my all to win games here; we’ll see what happens. Really, that’s all that matters. Give the club your all.”

A analyst for the Sky Blues vs. Leicester game, Jobi McAnuff, a former midfielder for Wimbledon and Reading, feels that negotiations for a new contract are likely to be “in the hands of his agent” and that the player “has a point to prove” as he attempts to guarantee his future.

“I think he means that it’s in the hands of his agent,” he replied. “I would definitely consider it from their perspective, and it was likely possible that they would prolong at the time of his injury.

“It’s possible that they were watching to see how he recovered from the injuries, but any way, he’s soaring high right now and might come back to bite them. His return has had a significant impact.

“He and the medical team deserve praise. a year later. It’s been a very long time, especially with that team performing so well. He made reference to this by talking about their run and how he was kind of forgotten about it.

“I believe that, especially since his return, he’s become more confident. I believe he has a small argument to make about being out of contract.

“The shop window is very, very much open, but they are a better team, particularly this season when he’s in it because he gives them that energy, that enthusiasm.”
