Aston Villa is purportedly eyeing a Premier League star in light of speculation about Douglas Luiz, a midfielder.

Villa has had an outstanding season thus far under Unai Emery’s direction.

With 42 points, they are now three points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League standings.

Villa are well-positioned to launch a persistent campaign to guarantee Champions League participation the following year.

The January transfer market is currently open, and Villa has been mentioned as a potential suitor for Emile Smith Rowe of Arsenal.

The midfield player is still having trouble getting consistent playing time under Mikel Arteta, but the Gunners are keeping an eye on him, according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook.

This occurs while speculation over Luiz’s future persists.

Luiz, a Brazilian midfielder, has been linked to Arsenal; the Gunners attempted to sign the Villa player back in 2022.

It was then reported that Villa turned down a £25 million offer for Luiz.

Now that he has contributed significantly to Villa’s season, Transfermarkt values him at €60 million.

Luiz stated to Sky Sports last month, “Although I am here at Aston Villa, I am very happy to hear the stories.” This is where my entire attention is focused. I glance at the tales occasionally but not for very long. I see them, but I don’t pay much attention to them or check them frequently. This is my head at Aston Villa.

“I have a lot of affection and love for Aston Villa because it is a club that welcomed me when I moved to England.”

“Honestly, Unai is an amazing manager,” he went on. He has altered the club’s history since coming here. Even though Aston Villa is a major English club, things weren’t going smoothly. Unai has changed it. People now hold the team and its players in higher regard.

We got into a nice fight last week because he holds me to a high standard when I’m on the field. I sometimes say something back because something isn’t quite right in my head. After our disagreement, we have a conversation and everything is OK.
