Current Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive amid rumors that the Reds are once more interested in acquiring Michy Batshuayi, a former Chelsea striker
It is rumored that Nottingham Forest has made a loan offer for Michy Batshuayi of Fenerbahce.
Batshuayi moved to Turkey on a permanent contract last summer, but the Reds never got the chance to sign him. Although the former Chelsea striker has nine goals this season in all competitions, he has recently struggled to get into the starting lineup at Fenerbahce.
According to earlier rumors, Rangers are the front-runners to sign him. However, it has since been reported that the 30-year-old’s deal is also of interest to the Reds.
Forest wants to sign the Belgian on a loan deal that would last until the end of the current campaign, according to Turkish news outlet Major. Additionally, it is said that the bid entails a commitment to purchase the former Chelsea striker for €4 million come summertime.
According to reports, Ali Koc, the president of Fenerbahce, pushed Batshuayi to decide on his future. “I have told him,” he said to En Son Haber (via the Daily Record). There is accommodation available in Fenerbahce if you would like to stay. However, the team will suffer if you are fidgety when sitting on the bench. Please let us know as soon as you have made up your mind.”
The only true attackers Nuno Espirito Santo has in his lineup right now are Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood, the former of whom has missed a significant portion of the season due to injury. Nuno may see value in Batshuayi, even though the former Wolves and Tottenham manager has so far only used one striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation at Forest.
