Manchester United’s possible impending transaction has apparently helped Rangers in their attempts to sign a “superb” player during the January transfer window.

News about Rangers transfers
The left-back Josh Doig of Hellas Verona, who first made waves at Hibernian, is one player who has emerged as a top target among the several players the Gers have been connected to this month. The left-back is thought to be a capable defensive option, but he might be headed to Marseille.

In a similar vein, Rangers are rumored to be interested in Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland. The 28-year-old is currently enjoying a fantastic season with his present team, leading the Scottish Premiership in goals scored. He is thought of as a substitute.

The 19-year-old Quito midfielder Oscar Zambrano is an additional option for the Scottish powerhouses and someone who may be a long-term addition.

Rangers offer a lift to David Jurasek
In the meantime, Rangers are reportedly considering a bid to recruit David Jurasek from Benica. Supporters of the left-back, who cost £12 million last summer, are present at Ibrox. Rangers may benefit if Manchester United loans Alvaro Fernandez to the big Portuguese team.

“Premier League giants Manchester United are close to transferring Alvaro Fernandez to Benfica on an £8.6 million loan-to-buy deal in a move which might clear the door for David Jurasek to join Rangers. HITC Football knows that, with one of Manchester United’s best young talents on his way to the Portuguese city, this could present an opportunity north of the border.

“HITC is also aware that David Jurasek, another left-back, will be able to leave Benfica as a result of Fernandez’s arrival. Marseille and Rangers are admirers of the 23-year-old Czech defender. It’s interesting to note that both teams had spoken on former Hibernian flyer Josh Doig with Hellas Verona. But apparently, Doig is headed to Marseille rather than Rangers. And that could free up Philippe Clement’s side.

If all goes according to plan, Jurasek may be a valuable addition to Philippe Clement’s team, which is unquestionably fantastic news for Rangers should Fernandez leave on loan to Benfica from United. Jacek Kulig, a football talent scout, recently praised him for a number of his qualities, saying the following about him:

“Vertical player with boundless energy, attacking full-back with quick, strong, and athletic reflexes who always looks to push forward at any chance.” Excellent crossing abilities, a winning mentality, a high work rate, tenacity, and commitment in duels 22 years old. We will see this outstanding left-back in a premier league sooner rather than later.”

This demonstrates Jurasek’s immense potential and how he may be a fantastic replacement for Doig. The Rangers should take every opportunity to develop him.

With only 12 matches under his belt for Benfica, he may welcome a new challenge. His five caps for the Czech Republic further demonstrate his international experience and convince the Gers to sign him, making this a player to keep an eye on.
