The New York Giants are allegedly interested in interviewing a second assistant from former head coach Mike Vrabel’s staff with the Tennessee Titans.
Tony Dews, the Tennessee assistant coach, has been given permission to interview with the Giants on their open running backs coach post. Shane Bowen, the defensive coordinator for Tennessee, was interviewed by the Giants last week as a possible successor for Wink Martindale.
Dews, fifty, has a noteworthy background. Since 2018, he has been coaching running backs for the Titans through the 2022 season. Dews was a tight end coach last season.
In 1998, Dews started working as a college coach. He has coached special teams, offense, and defense at different points in his career. Quarterback is the only position he hasn’t coached.
In addition, Joel Thomas, the running backs coach for the New Orleans Saints, was interviewed by the Giants for the position that became available after Jeff Nixon took a position as offensive coordinator at Syracuse University.
