Nottingham Forest has been accused of violating the Profit and Sustainability regulations of the Premier League.

The Premier League has punished Nottingham Forest for breaking the Profit and Sustainability regulations.

On December 31, all 20 Premier League teams turned in their financial statements for the 2022–2023 fiscal year, which includes Forest’s inaugural season back in the top division following promotion in May 2022.

The City Ground team has lavishly spent over £150 million on almost 40 players since rejoining the Premier League, including Jesse Lingard, Chris Wood, Serge Aurier, and Morgan Gibbs-White.

Forest is the third team in Premier League history to be found to have violated PSR standards, formerly known as Financial Fair Play. Their case will be examined by an independent commission prior to the end of the season, following charges for Manchester City and Everton in 2023.

According to Premier League rules, teams can lose up to £105 million in three years, or £35 million every season. The criterion for a loss is much lower for teams that were promoted from the Championship during that time. Over the past two years, Forest has lost £15.6 million and £45.6 million.

The Reds have two weeks to answer to the allegations; it is rumored that they have already retained a top sports attorney. If found guilty, a fine, a transfer ban, or a point deduction are all potential penalties.
