This season, Leeds United just cannot afford for Georginio Rutter to sustain an injury.

Rutter fits into the category of those players who are simply unreplaceable for the Whites, maybe even more so now that he is wearing number 10.

Throughout the campaign, Rutter has been the driving force behind this Leeds team, but he has now found his rhythm again after a brief pause in his high standards. Leeds’ consecutive 3-0 league victories against other teams with him a little deeper are not by accident.

Preston North End and Cardiff City will play each other after an eight-day break, suggesting that Daniel Farke has given his players some time off. Rutter has shared several pictures of himself visiting a ski resort on his various social media accounts.

Leeds supporters had expressed anxiety that he would get hurt while overseas, but Rutter has quickly allayed those worries on

In response to a supporter who posted, “Does this picture make anyone else nervous, don’t get injured lad @georgi_hrt,” he answered, “No worries I walk only with my moon boots.”

Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like he’s skiing. Manuel Neuer had a broken leg shortly after the 2022 World Cup, which would prevent him from playing for the remainder of the season.

Since Leeds returns to action on Sunday and training is virtually certain to resume either tomorrow or the day following, it is unlikely that Rutter will be there for very long.

Leeds now has a stretch of games where they should be able to put together a lengthy winning streak—three is the most they have this season.

Rutter, whose form over the last two games has been outstanding, will be crucial to achieving that.
