Villa is expected to finalize the acquisition of Red Star Belgrade’s teenage right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic by the end of the week.

The 18-year-old will sign a contract worth an initial £6.6 million and spend the remainder of the season on loan back to the Serbian team.

Nedeljkovic, a young Serbian international, has played in four Champions League games this year and is regarded as a youngster with a lot of potential.

He is anticipated to show up at Bodymoor Heath tomorrow, where, following a medical examination, he will sign a long-term deal.

Nedeljkovic will be Villa’s first acquisition of the January transfer window; however, additional additions are contingent upon exits, as the team is eager to free up salary space by selling defender Calum Chambers and winger Bertrand Traore.

Matty Cash is Villa’s only official right-back after Chambers was declared surplus to requirements by manager Unai Emery. However, center-back Ezri Konsa has frequently filled in for Cash in this season.

Recalled from a loan spell at Plymouth, academy product Kaine Kesler-Hayden is probably going to be retained on as cover.

Leander Dendoncker, a midfield player, is also a target for Villa, however any deal would depend on finding a replacement. The Belgium international’s loan proposals will not be considered by the club.
