The most recent rumors and news regarding transfers involving Brighton & Hove Albion and other Premier League teams

Later this week, Brighton & Hove Albion is anticipated to confirm Valentin Barco’s £8 million arrival.

The 19-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract with an additional year’s option after the Seagulls used the £8 million release clause that his club, Boca Juniors, had imposed.

Barco has drawn interest from Chelsea and Manchester City and is considered one of the most promising players in South America.

Barco, however, revealed today that he will be joining Roberto De Zerbi’s club after The Seagulls made the ultimate move.

“I’m a Brighton player already,” he declared to ESPN in South America. “The football there is completely different from that played here. I’ll have to adjust, maybe not too long. I was unable to get in touch with the coach. I did have a conversation with the present Facu [Facundo Buonanotte].

Barco is scheduled to play with Argentina Under-23s in order to qualify for the Olympics, so it is anticipated that he won’t be available until at least February.

Brighton’s next game is on January 22 at the Amex Stadium against Wolves, then on January 27 they play Sheffield United in the FA Cup fourth round. On January 30, they play their quick comeback to Premier League action against Luton Town.
