First replacement

Clement has made it quite evident that the left-back position is vulnerable, taking strong positions against Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz, both of whom have been connected to departures from the team.

The Gers would need to find a replacement left-back before the summer because the latter’s contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Even though Jurasek moved to Portugal in the summer, he has only made 12 appearances for Benfica since leaving Slavia Prague. Jurasek also has five caps for the Czech Republic already.

With nine goals in his senior campaign, the 23-year-old could be the attacking full-back Clement is looking for to mimic James Tavernier’s right wing play.

The Belgian will be hoping that his early bid would assist convince Benfica to accept a contract before he is allowed to be signed by other teams, which may include a Bundesliga team and many English teams.

As progress is made in the Gers’ attempt to sign a January player, an update on their £4.8 million bid has surfaced in other Rangers news.
