The Hammers look best-placed to strike a deal for the little-used Manchester City midfielder
West Ham and Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested in a move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who is set to decide his future next week.
Phillips is keen to play more regular football for the remainder of the season to give himself a better chance of keeping his place in the England squad for Euro 2024.
Newcastle are also interested in the 28-year-old, while Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have been linked with a January move. Juventus have cooled their interest in Phillips.
City are said to be relaxed over the situation regarding Phillips, but will demand that his £135,000-a-week wages are paid in full if he leaves on loan this month.
West Ham are in a good position to win the race to sign the England international.
The Hammers, who are keen to strengthen their midfield options, have freed up some space in their wage bill by allowing Thilo Kehrer to join Monaco on loan.
Said Benrahma could also leave West Ham this month, amid interest from clubs in France.
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson confirmed the Eagles are interested in Phillips before their 1-0 defeat by Everton in their FA Cup third round replay at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
