After his physical in the coming days, Mohamed Diomande is scheduled to meet with Rangers executives James Bisgrove and Nils Koppen to finalize his transfer, according per the Daily Record.
On January 21, the newspaper announced on its website that the midfield player is anticipated to sign a long-term contract at Ibrox. In order to finalize the deal, he must first depart from the Nordsjaelland training camp.
It appears only a matter of time until he is seen wearing the Rangers scarf around his neck, as a medical procedure is scheduled to take place in the next few days.
A true triumph for the Rangers
From the time this transaction was originally announced, everything you’ve read indicates the Rangers are in for a huge win. Diomande, who is only 22 years old, has plenty of time to improve and advance his skills at Ibrox before joining the team and making an early impact.
Naturally a center-midfielder, there have been hints that Philippe Clement may choose to start him at number ten in lieu of the departing Sam Lammers. If needed, he can also fill in out wide.
Having gone to Europe in 2020, he has 111 matches under his belt and 13 goal contributions from midfield. He also has a lot of experience for his age. That experience comes with knowledge that this Rangers team will require.
The problems Ibrox has had with squad depth have made finding a new midfield player a top priority this January, which has frequently resulted in Dujon Sterling playing positions other than right-back.
