Mateusz Musialowski, a January transfer target for Leeds United, would be a “fantastic” addition to the team.
Former Rangers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton praised the teenage forward’s remarkable statistics and adaptability for Liverpool’s development teams in an exclusive interview with Football Insider.
A number of lower-division teams have expressed interest in signing the Poland under-21 international, but the Whites have expressed interest in doing so, as Football Insider reported on January 22.
Although Musialowski has not yet played as a senior, he has scored 30 goals in 80 games for the Reds and is capable of playing a number of offensive positions.
The 20-year-old’s contract expires in June, so Hutton was thrilled about the potential of him heading to Elland Road, where he would have the “freedom” to start playing well under Daniel Farke right away.
He told Football Insider, “He’s obviously got something about him, because he plays for Liverpool.”
“He may not be playing for the first team, but his numbers for the younger ranks are outstanding, and he is a very versatile player who can play throughout the front.
He has the chance to seize it if he travels to Leeds.
You’re providing him with a stage on which to demonstrate his abilities.
“He has a ton of potential, so playing for a team like Leeds, who are winning a lot of championships and have a lot of young talent, gives you that freedom.”
“He needs that opportunity, and he will be searching for it.
“I think he would do well at Leeds, and this could be a fantastic move for him.”
