Nuno Tavares was hoping to obtain the Premier League football he so desperately wanted when he was sent to Nottingham Forest in the summer following an eventful loan spell at Marseille.

But even though Tricky Trees paid more than €1 million for the agreement, he failed to persuade Steve Cooper at initially, a pattern that has persisted since Nuno Espírito Santo joined.

Marseille is working on bringing him back late in the transfer season because there have been rumors that his contract with Nottingham Forest may be terminated and that he may be shipped somewhere, according to L’Equipe.

The French publication examines the Ligue 1 team’s actions in the later part of January, highlighting their primary goal of acquiring a left-back.

They’ve tried a few names, but reportedly their current “priority target” is the loanee from Nottingham Forest, who they are familiar with from his time with the team last year.

Even though he got off to a great start, scoring goals for pleasure and posing a serious attacking threat, everything came apart in the second half of the season after he reportedly had a falling out with the now-retired manager, Igor Tudor.
Since then, Gennaro Gattuso has taken the place of the Croatian, and Marseille is after the Nottingham Forest player once more because of Gattuso’s playing style.

The second reason is that, although they have also enquired about Bradley Locko and Angeliño, he is the “simplest” transaction to pull off in the final moments of the transfer window. It will probably be another loan.
