“Discussions are ongoing” about West Ham’s pursuit of the Nordsjaelland winger, according to Ben Jacobs.

Before the transfer window closes, the Hammers hope to add a few players, and they are almost done with Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City.

“Talks are moving pretty fast” to sign the highly-regarded 19-year-old winger, according to Jacobs. West Ham has already had a bid of about €16 million plus add-ons rejected. They are currently negotiating a better agreement, which is estimated to cost between €18 and €19 million with add-ons.

A greater number of signings?
Phillips will join West Ham on loan for the remainder of the season after completing his medical. If all goes according to plan, the Hammers may also talk about signing him permanently the following summer.

Nevertheless, because of Michail Antonio’s injury, they require a reliable striker in their lineup. Although Osman isn’t a striker per se, he will give the attacking areas more depth.

Considering how strongly Armando Broja has been connected to a move, it will be intriguing to watch if the Hammers still make a striker acquisition this month. They would be happy to sign him on loan, though, if the Blues let him go, but they are now unwilling to pay Chelsea’s asking price.

As things stand, the Hammers are making enough progress to win the race to sign the player, although Brentford and Brighton have also expressed interest in him.

Next Thursday in the Premier League, West Ham takes on Bournemouth.
