Rangers defeated Dumbarton in the cup on Saturday, doing their task quickly and effectively despite the bad weather.

They will now make a quick trip up the M8 to Easter Road to play Hibs as they return to league action. They may find it difficult to handle this tie, particularly as Nick Montgomery and his team have gained strength from the additions of Emiliano Marcondes and Myziane Maolida.

In the most recent encounter between the two teams, Philippe Clement’s men easily defeated the Hibees, scoring four goals past an open visitor team. With such signings, it’s difficult to predict what the capital team will provide, even though they are without four players because of foreign commitments.

When selecting his starting lineup, the Belgian will take this into consideration as he is missing several players due to chronic injuries.

We’ve attempted to anticipate his approach.

Jack Butland

The number one was rested for the Dumbarton one but there is surely no doubt about who will be between the sticks at Easter Road.

James Tavernier

Another goal an assist at the weekend for the ubiquitous skipper and he will continue at right-back.

Connor Goldson

A permanent fixture in the Gers defence when fit and it’s only usually his centre back partner that is up for debate.

John Souttar

Back in the side of late and performing well alongside Goldson, will hope to stay fit and get a run of games.

Ridvan Yilmaz

Fans have been pleased with the Turk’s recent performances and it seems Clement has too.

John Lundstram

Amid doubt around his contract situation, Lundstram has maintained a high level of performance and has been one of the better players under the current manager.

Nicolas Raskin

Was great for all of a Gers persuasion to see the Belgian back in the side and he will look to keep building up his match fitness.

Todd Cantwell

Enjoying being back in the number 10 role and should keep that going tonight.

Ross McCausland

The youngster looked dangerous again at Dumbarton and continues to thrive under all the exposure.

Rabbi Matondo

Looking to kick on after his tidy finish against Copenhagen and was another who showed up well in the cup game.

Fabio Silva

It could be time for the Portuguese forward to get his first start after a few cameos from the bench.
