Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive amid claims that the Villans were interested in signing Giovanni Reyna from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window
It is rumored that Gio Reyna, who is connected to Aston Villa, has agreed to be signed on loan by Nottingham Forest and Marseille with Borussia Dortmund.
According to recent rumors, Villa is reportedly interested in signing the American, who since making his Dortmund debut in January 2020 has assisted 16 goals and scored 17 goals. But it appears that Forest, their Midlands rivals, may have gotten ahead of Reyna’s prospective signing.
Reyna will join Forest and Marseille on a loan deal with the possibility of a permanent move, according to reports from ESPN. According to ESPN, two unidentified clubs are also alleged to have come to a similar deal, with Dortmund supposedly seeking about €15 million, or £13.8 million, in exchange for a permanent transfer.
According to reports, the USA international is “determined” to quit the club in the current window. Reyna’s father, Claudio, and agent, Jorge Mendes, are reportedly putting in a lot of effort to get her a move in the upcoming weeks, whether it be a temporary or permanent one.
Like most Premier League teams, Unai Emery’s team has had a quiet January transfer season thus far. All elite teams in the top division of English football must be cost-conscious in order to adhere to the league’s sustainability and profitability requirements (PSR).
In spite of this, Villa paid £6.5 million to sign Kosta Nedeljkovic from Crvena Zvezda. For the balance of current season, Zvezda has promptly received the defender back on loan.
Since the January transfer window opened, the Villans have also had two bids for Morgan Rogers of Middlesbrough rejected. But Unai Emery and his group are anticipated to make a second attempt, as Boro is now eliminated from the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage.
