According to reports, Rangers are hoping to sign Lens winger Oscar Cortes before the January transfer window closes.
This month, the Ibrox team has already signed two players, and it seems that Philippe Clement wants to bolster his squad’s offensive capabilities.
According to a story earlier today by ESPN journalist Julian Capera, the Gers are very interested in signing Cortes. And as of right now, Heart and Hand Podcast—the official media partner of the Rangers—is standing by it.
The owner of Heart and Hand, David Edgar, claims that the Bears are “really” interested in Cortes and that they plan to finalize a loan agreement within the next 24 to 48 hours.
“There is genuine interest in Oscar Cortes. In the next 24 to 48 hours, Rangers hope to bring him in on loan, as Heart and Hand Podcast stated on X.
Additional signings
In addition to attempting to introduce new faces, Clement is seeking to establish his authority. Fabio Silva from Wolves has already been signed by Rangers on loan, and Mohamed Diomande has joined from FC Nordsjaelland.
Now that one striker and one midfielder have been signed, attention is turning to bringing in a new right winger. The Rangers are really interested in signing the extremely gifted 20-year-old.
There have been rumors that the player is headed to Glasgow, but Rangers Review’s Christopher Jack says they are unfounded.
He said that as of right now, no agreement has been reached to get the 20-year-old to Ibrox before the deadline. But Rangers are making a lot of noise in the competition to get the international player from Colombia to Ibrox in the coming days.
In order to strengthen his team, Clement has already acknowledged that he will be extremely busy until the end of the transfer window. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if the Gers make an official offer for the winger in the days to come.
