After their first attempt to sign Everton defender Ben Godfrey was turned down, Leeds United is reportedly going to try again, as Football Insider reports.
The Whites intend to bolster their team before the transfer window closes on Wednesday night. Godfrey lost popularity at Goodison Park and became a target last week.
For Sean Dyche’s club this season, the 26-year-old has only made one Premier League start because the former Burnley manager has chosen to start James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite together at center defense. The two-time England international is therefore widely expected to leave Merseyside this month.
According to reports, Dyche is eager to let go of the former Norwich City player in order to free up salary in his team, and interest in him has come from all across the continent. Leeds might be the best team for him to start over and perhaps make it back to the top division by the summer.
