Football Insider claims that Wrexham is preparing a bid for Fleetwood Town striker Jack Marriott.
Before the transfer market closes later this week, Wrexham is eager to entice the League One attacker to the Racecourse Ground.
In the first half of the season, Marriott, 29, has made 29 appearances and scored five goals.
Football Insider reports that Phil Parkinson is keeping an eye on him, but the League Two hopefuls will have to defeat Oxford United and Stevenage to stand a chance of promotion.
Wrexham eye striker Marriott would be a striking addition to the team should they be able to close a deal to get him.
He would compete with players like Paul Mullin, Steven Fletcher, and Sam Dalby for a spot in the starting XI, giving the Red Dragons greater depth and competition as they try to push their way into the third division.
The man, who was born in East Yorkshire, joined Fleetwood in 2023 and has one more year left on his deal with the North West team. However, with the deadline coming up later this week, his future is currently uncertain.
As a young player, Marriott played three times for the senior team at Ipswich Town after rising through the ranks. He also gained experience by loaning out to Woking, Gillingham, Carlisle United, and Colchester United.
He was permanently signed by Luton Town in 2015 after he scored 28 goals in 91 games as a Hatter, earning a transfer to Peterborough United.
Before moving on to Derby County, the attacker scored 33 goals in his one year at London Road.
After spending time on loan with the Rams at Sheffield Wednesday, Marriott ultimately re-signed with the Posh. It appears that he will be playing for Wrexham this winter.
