Mahmoud Dahoud, a midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion, may leave the Premier League early as Stuttgart nears a possible £8 million agreement to bring the former Dortmund star back to the Bundesliga.

HITC Football is aware that the 2023 arrival, who when coming in June was considered by some to be among the most creative arrivals of the summer window, may be leaving The Amex soon after making just six league appearances under Roberto de Zerbi.

Close to securing an instant return to German football, Mahmoud Dahoud is a rare “miss” in a sea of “hits” for Brighton, a team whose recruitment department is the envy of most top-flight clubs.

Top-tier VFB Stuttgart is in advanced negotiations for a loan agreement that, should the current season end, may result in a permanent move of £8 million.

Mahmoud Dahoud will ensure Brighton’s departure.

Dahoud has not succeeded in persuading De Zerbi in the South Coast of England. The Germany international, who was born in Syria, has only featured once since receiving a red card against Sheffield United in September. He wasn’t even included in Brighton’s matchday squad for their 4-0 thrashing at Luton Town on Tuesday.

At least Brighton could still turn a healthy profit. After his contract with Borussia Dortmund expired, Dahoud joined the team for free and has the potential to bring in an additional £8 million for The Seagulls.

“I’ve already had numerous conversations with Dahoud. A few weeks ago, De Zerbi—one of the contenders to succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool’s manager—said of the 28-year-old, “I expect more and more from him.”

It can be challenging at first to live abroad. Ultimately, you need time because we are playing football at the highest level. However, football isn’t always able to give that time.

It now seems as though Dahoud’s “time” in Brighton’s blue-and-white is running out.

Is Dahoud in, and Dewsbury-Hall out?
De Zerbi might use a portion of that possible windfall of £8 million to fund a trade for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the star player for Leicester City. HITC is aware that Jordan James, who is garnering support at Birmingham City, is another Championship midfielder that Brighton is keeping an eye on in addition to Dewsbury-Hall.
