This month, Elland Road has seen a number of departures, including the departures of Lewis Bate, Luke Ayling, Robin Koch, Leo Hjelde, and Darko Gyabi. However, no new players have been added as of yet.
Phil Hay shared Farke’s words on Wednesday, January 31, writing via X: “Farke stated Leeds were nearing a few deals that ultimately fell through. suggested that Hashioka would be affected by the injury.
A window that disappoints
If by reasonable activity they meant only departures, many Leeds supporters would have been correct in their expectations that the team would be busy throughout the current transfer window.
It is surprising that nothing has transpired there yet given Farke’s expressed intention to sign at least one new full-back, the extension of Spence’s loan, and Ayling’s move to Middlesbrough until the end of the season.
That hasn’t occurred, though, and with barely hours to go before the deadline, there can’t be any new arrivals at Elland Road, even though the Whites have a packed schedule ahead of them.
Injuries have been a major factor in determining certain matchday lineups in recent weeks, particularly in defense, where Wales national Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu have had to fill in for each other at center back.
Farke will need to play his cards exactly if Leeds are to make it to the Premier League this season and defeat teams like Southampton and Ipswich Town in the Championship, as no acquisitions are anticipated in the next few hours.
