The defending national champions were robbed out of numerous prime time opportunities last year, largely because of CBS Sports. Hopefully, in 2024, that will be resolved.

Georgia football fans were treated to almost a whole season of 3:30 and 12 pm games in 2023. Due in large part to the SEC’s expiring TV contract with CBS, the defending national champions played just two prime time home games this season: against Ole Miss on November 11 and Kentucky on October 7.

With CBS no longer involved and the SEC games now airing on ESPN, perhaps we’ll see more games from Georgia and less from Wisconsin or Penn State.

Given that Georgia has one of the hardest schedules in the country in 2024, there will be plenty of opportunities for prime time games if the networks decide to highlight one of the most popular teams in the nation.

These Georgia football games in 2024 make excellent prime-time picks.

A classic Southern rivalry, Georgia vs. Clemson is always entertaining to watch as these two close-by programs battle it out.

Since there will only be one game this year instead of two like in previous years, the AFLAC Kickoff Game for 2024 may take place at 3:30 in the evening, but there’s a good probability it will take place in prime time.

There is a major problem at ESPN if this game isn’t taking place during prime time. For the first time since 2020, the top two SEC teams will square off in the regular season, rekindling one of the greatest rivalries in college football during the past ten years.

This game, which may potentially feature a rematch of the historic 2023 game, will have much to offer both TV viewers and supporters alike. It should determine who advances to play for the SEC championship in December.

The Oldest Rivalry in the Deep South is one of those games that should always be played at prime time.

Whatever their respective records, the rivalry between Georgia and Auburn is among the best in the country. Moving the game ahead from its customary late-season spot may have removed some of the mystique, but this is still a game that belongs under the lights.
