Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are getting nearer to signing in January! Wrexham is in advanced negotiations to sign a new midfield midfielder.

The Manchester City academy graduate was reportedly the target of an offer from the Red Dragons earlier this week, but Salford swiftly rejected it. But since then, the two parties have undertaken extensive conversations, according to Peter O’Rourke of Football Insider, and Wrexham’s offer has risen, meaning that a signing is imminent. The midfielder would be Phil Parkinson’s first acquisition in January as the team, controlled by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has been patient in the negotiations.

Parkinson provided an explanation for the club’s lack of January additions in comparison to many of their rivals when he spoke to The Athletic last week. “There are a lot of enquiries going on but, equally, we have some good players ready to make a big contribution,” he added.
