Alex Crook of talkSPORT is reporting that Burnley defender Connor Roberts is close to joining Leeds United.

On Thursday, February 1st, Crook announced through his personal X account that the Whites were almost done signing by Deadline Day.

This season, the right-back has made 16 appearances for Burnley across all competitions, 14 of which have been in the Premier League.

Arriving

The current Leeds transfer window has seen a lot of activity at right-back, with Djed Spence returning to parent club Tottenham and Luke Ayling departing for Middlesbrough.

Archie Gray, a young star who recently pledged his long-term future to the team, has consistently put on amazing performances despite all of those trades.

However, it doesn’t appear that Daniel Farke has let that stop him from bringing in Roberts, who is expected to show up at Elland Road on Deadline Day.

Given that Gray is a midfielder by trade, it should not come as a surprise. The 17-year-old has a bright future at Leeds in both positions.

Right-back Jamie Shackleton has also been used recently, but Roberts has the opportunity to take over and establish himself there.

The 28-year-old defender has over 50 caps for Wales and has played in the Premier League for both Swansea City and the Clarets. He also has a ton of big-game experience.

In other Leeds United news, as contract negotiations at Elland Road continue, the Whites are looking for a reset with one player.
