Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the owners of Wrexham, are hoping to break their transfer record on deadline day, therefore they are not leaving anything to chance.
With two deadline-day acquisitions already signed, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are continuing to spend heavily at Wrexham, and it doesn’t seem like the Red Dragons’ work is done yet. In an attempt to strengthen their League Two promotion campaign, veteran goalscorer Jack Marriott and adaptable wide winger Luke Bolton have joined. Meanwhile, Wrexham is still pursuing Jamie Lindsay of Rotherham, a move that may set a club record for transfers.
With a game remaining, Phil Parkinson’s team is now in second place in the standings, five points behind Stockport County. After winning the National League championship the previous season, the Hollywood owners of the North Wales team are aiming for back-to-back promotions, leaving nothing to chance.
Marriot has joined League One team Fleetwood Town for an unknown amount. The 29-year-old scored five goals in 24 games for Fleetwood this season. He has had standout stints with Peterborough United, Luton Town, and Derby County.
He remarked, “I’m really happy to be here and happy to get the deal over the line.” “I am thrilled to be here and I want to be involved in the trajectory that the club is going in. The way the team plays together and performs on the field is a real key factor for me signing.”
Additionally, Wrexham paid an undisclosed sum for Salford City’s Bolton. The 24-year-old, who featured in 20 games this season, is mostly a right-back and came through the Manchester City system.
“I’m excited to be here, and I want to be a part of the Club’s success in advancing from League Two to the second position in the table,” he stated. I’m happy to be involved, and I hope we can move on and pursue the title because it’s definitely still in the cards.
Parkinson believes both men will support Wrexham’s efforts to promote. “We’re really happy to have Jack join the Club,” he stated. With demonstrated expertise at an advanced level, he joins us with the intention of making a significant impact in the second half of the season.
Luke is a fantastic addition to the team. He will be a player that gives the squad a lot of pace and energy.
Multiple reports state that Wrexham is still interested in making a high-profile transfer for Lindsay, a midfielder for Rotherham. The £300,000 record cost that Wrexham paid to AFC Wimbledon for striker Ollie Palmer two years ago is expected to be broken by the deal, given the 28-year-old has only scored one goal in 12 Championship games this season.
