The 2023–24 season has 16 games remaining, thus West Ham needs to act fast to appoint a manager for the following season.
Under David Moyes, the Hammers have performed admirably, appearing to get better every year. Nevertheless, the Scot’s contract expires in June, which is almost after the season has ended.
The club board doesn’t need to be scurrying around in the summer to find a new manager, but it appears that they won’t have to now that Moyes has declared his intention to sign a new deal as soon as possible.
That may not sit well with every West Ham supporter, but the great majority will probably be satisfied with the player whose sides routinely finish in the top half of the Premier League and make it to Europe under his leadership.
We’ll resume our conversation about his contract now that the transfer window has closed. He was cited in the Daily Mail as adding, “We’re well down the line and moving on with it.”
“We’ll get back to that in a few weeks.”
With his new contract finalized, there may be a greater chance of acquiring players because they will have the knowledge needed to make an informed choice.
It’s anyone’s guess whether this indicates that Tim Steidten, the sporting director who is rumored to have signed Edson Alvarez and Mo Kudus, is on his way.
