According to a spokesman, “Sussex Police manages the safe arrival and departure of supporters from the Amex Stadium in collaboration with partners including Southern Rail, British Transport Police, the Premier League, and Brighton and Hove Albion.”
“We would want to express our gratitude to all of the supporters who showed good behavior prior to, during, and following the game
“A tiny percentage of fans did, nevertheless, behave in an unruly and disruptive manner.
Officers made seven arrests that day for offenses that included assault, assault on a paramedic, affray, and violations of the Public Order Act, two of which were made worse by homophobia.
Before kickoff, a cop was hurt near Brighton Station; it is thought that the pyrotechnic that was thrown as a missile caused the injuries.
According to police, the officer is “now recovering” and “did not require hospital treatment.”
The statement said, “Officers responded as necessary, and anyone caught committing offenses will face strong consequences.”
Ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all attendees is our goal, in collaboration with partners such as the club and emergency services colleagues.
