The first time as Wrexham’s manager to experience back-to-back league losses, Phil Parkinson pledged to find “solutions.”
Consequently, what happened?
A few months after the Hollywood celebrities finished their incredible takeover at SToK Racecourse, in the summer of 2021, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney gave the seasoned coach the reins. Since then, the Red Dragons have experienced a great deal of success with relatively few failures.

But in all competitions, they have dropped their last three games. Wrexham has fallen to fourth in the table following back-to-back losses to Newport County and Salford City in League Two. They are now outside of the automatic promotion spots, but they still have games in hand on all of the teams surrounding them.
PARKINSON’S MENTION
After a disheartening 3-1 loss against Salford, Parkinson told reporters he was certain a constructive response would be given to a rare wobble and outlined his plans to ensure that standards are raised collectively: “I told the boys that we need to improve as a team and that everyone of us has to figure out how to play these kinds of games better. We knew what to expect, so we selected powerful, physical players like Aaron Hayden and Jordan Tunnicliffe, but we still gave up two goals from set plays. Every season has slumps when things don’t go your way; we need to fight hard to get out of this rut as soon as possible, and we will. We won’t start criticizing people or losing our minds because we haven’t experienced many slumps like this in the past few years when things haven’t worked out for us. Simply put, we’re going to pull together as a team to get over this small hump and onto the other side. We must work together to find answers, and we will do so.
FUTURE PLANS FOR WREXHAM?
On Saturday, Wrexham will return to its home field as it hosts Bradford City. Parkinson will be hoping the match can reignite their spark, as his team has 18 games remaining and is only six points behind Stockport County at the top of the table.
